Switching Medicare Advantage Plans in Florida

If you are eligible for a Medicare Advantage plan you can join or switch Medicare Advantage plans (like to like) from October 15th through December 7th each year. You also have an additional opportunity to disenroll from a Medicare Advantage plan from January 1st through February 14th. This is known as the Annual Medicare Advantage Disenrollment Period. Your disenrollment will be effective the first day of the month following your disenrollment.

During the Medicare Advantage Disenrollment Period you can make changes only if you have a Medicare Advantage plan. If you have a Medicare Prescription Drug Plan this disenrollment period will not apply to you. People with Medicare Advantage plans with drug coverage can disenroll from the plan and return to Original Medicare Parts A & B alongside a stand-alone prescription drug plan. Medicare Advantage plan members with no drug coverage only have the option of returning to Original Medicare. They cannot sign up for a Prescription Drug Plan at this time.
